Boreal Editions announced that it would no longer reprint or publish future works by Thélyson Orélien, the author of C’était ça ou mourir, after finding AI‑generated tags in the metadata of some working documents for the novel. The novel had been released in France by Grasset.
The publisher’s decision comes after the discovery of these tags, which indicate that artificial‑intelligence tools were used during the manuscript’s preparation. Boreal has chosen to end its collaboration with Orélien and will not proceed with any further editions of his work.
