The ceremony took place at the La Méditerranée restaurant in Paris, where Vasset received the literary award in the presence of fellow writers and publishers.
Vasset’s novel, issued by Flammarion, was selected as the winner in the foreign novel category, beating other notable works.
In the same event, Eva Baltasar won the foreign novel prize for Déclin et fascination (Verdier), and Jean‑Baptiste Del Amo received the essay prize for Une éclaircie (Stock).
Richard Zénith was honoured with a special prize for his work Pessoa, l’œuvre‑vie (Seuil).
The Prix Médicis continues its tradition of recognising innovative French-language literature across several categories.
