The ADAGP jury praised Espier’s work as “a book with masterful rhythm and referenced drawing” that humorously depicts the existential loneliness of childhood.
Nous, les petits is Espier’s first published album and was released by the French publisher La tête ailleurs.
The award, part of the ADAGP’s annual Revelation Livre jeunesse competition, recognises emerging talent in children’s literature and illustration.
Espier, an illustrator, will join previous laureates in receiving the prize at the ceremony scheduled by the ADAGP later this year.
