After a year without a festival, Angoulême will host a revamped comics event from 28 to 31 January 2027, aiming to strengthen author involvement and restore its global profile.

The city of Angoulême is set to launch a new edition of its comics festival, scheduled for 28 to 31 January 2027.

The event is organized by M:BD, a subsidiary of the Morgane group, together with the Association for the Development of Comics in Angoulême.

According to the organisers, the festival will renew its governance structure, place greater emphasis on the role of authors and illustrators, and seek to regain an international dimension.

This initiative follows a hiatus in 2026, during which no festival took place.
