Carlsen is shifting its growth model toward deeper brand development, aiming to attract younger readers through a mix of market research, community initiatives and live‑format events.

Chief executives Sandra Harzer‑Kux and Frank Sambeth said the publisher will explore new pathways to reach youth audiences, including adapting its popular Pixi titles into moving‑image formats.

While expanding brand experiences, the duo stressed that the core book product will remain the focal point of the strategy.

Modernisation efforts will accompany these initiatives, with the goal of sustaining revenue streams without resorting to price increases.

The approach reflects Carlsen’s belief that stronger brands can generate additional value while preserving the traditional publishing model.
