Olga Pastuchiv, known for both writing and illustrating, has crafted a new picture book titled Lulee Lullaby.
The book, published by Holiday House in partnership with Porter and scheduled for release on 3 November, transforms the personal impact of Russia’s 2022 invasion of Ukraine into a soothing bedtime narrative.
Pastuchiv’s approach seeks to make a complex, traumatic event accessible to young readers by framing it as a lullaby, offering comfort while acknowledging the conflict’s reality.
By blending illustration with gentle prose, the work aims to provide a safe space for children to process the war’s effects through a familiar bedtime ritual.
