After the justice system rejected the legal challenges filed by the FIBD association and the collective 9e Art +, several comic‑book publishers and the Syndicat national de l’édition publicly welcomed the decision.
The ruling removes the legal uncertainty that had clouded preparations for the Angoulême International Comics Festival scheduled for January 2027.
Publishers noted that the judgment allows them to resume planning exhibitions, author meetings and market activities without fear of further injunctions.
The National Publishing Union also praised the outcome, stating it safeguards the festival’s role as a key meeting point for creators, editors and readers.
Organisers of the Angoulême event are now able to focus on programming and logistics for the upcoming edition.
