The new shop, accessible via Storytelbooks, is available immediately and will be integrated into the Storytel application by the end of October. Subscribers to the platform will receive an exclusive discount on their physical book purchases.

Claus Wamsler-Nielsen, commercial director of Storytel Group, stated that the initiative aims to provide the best experience regardless of format. He explained that the store enables users to transition from listening to a work to buying it in paper directly within the Storytel ecosystem.

The company noted that the project stems from user habits, as many subscribers frequently alternate between audiobooks and physical books depending on the moment. Helena Gustafsson, content and publications director at Storytel Group, affirmed that their audience enjoys switching between reading and listening.

The launch also creates a new distribution channel for authors and publishers, allowing stories available on Storytel to reach readers through an additional format. The technological platform for the new store was developed by Sweden Buyersclub.

Currently, the launch is limited to the Swedish market. This move marks a significant strategic shift for Storytel, which has traditionally been associated primarily with audiobook and digital book consumption, by incorporating physical sales into its core offering.
