At this year’s Frankfurt Book Fair, Publishing Scotland was presented with a cake and a certificate recognizing its fifty years of participation.
CEO Sheila Pinder noted that the organisation first exhibited in Frankfurt in 1974 and that each annual stand builds on the work of earlier pioneers who took the risk of showcasing Scottish publishing on the global stage.
Pinder emphasized the importance of face‑to‑face meetings at the fair, describing membership bodies like Publishing Scotland as a “team effort” and a “long‑term relay” in an ever‑changing market.
The milestone was also featured in Publishing Perspectives, underscoring the significance of the anniversary for the Scottish publishing community.
