The Unwin Award, administered by the Publishers Association and made possible by a donation from the Unwin Charitable Trust, carries a £10,000 prize awarded for an author’s overall non‑fiction body of work.

A shortlist will be revealed in February 2027, with the winner announced at a ceremony hosted by the Royal Institution in April 2027. The event will also feature the Unwin Lecture, delivered alongside the award presentation.

Previous recipients include Caroline Criado Perez, who won the inaugural award in 2025, and Hannah Ritchie, the 2026 winner. Dan Conway, CEO of the Publishers Association, said he was delighted to announce the experienced panel. Chair Hannah MacInnes added that she was honoured to support an award that showcases the societal impact of non‑fiction.
