In a recent Authors Guild member spotlight, Sullivan emphasized that writing enables the human community to connect, exchange ideas and grow.

When asked about overcoming writer’s block, she recommends stepping outside into nature, listening to birds, making a cup of tea and then returning to the page.

Sullivan says her preferred writing time is the morning, specifically within the first three hours after waking.

She cites Alice Walker’s advice, “We are the ones we’ve been waiting for,” as the most valuable guidance she has received, urging writers to trust their own experience and knowledge.

Regarding the modern writing landscape, Sullivan notes the unprecedented access to others, describing it as both overwhelming and full of limitless opportunities for community‑building, problem‑solving and creation.

Her latest book, Embracing Your ADHD Brain: An Actually Helpful Guide for Teens, is now available through Free Spirit Publishing.
